<description>This program helps to extend life to old DOS programs. Nowadays, many laser and jet printers have powerful features but ... can not print a simple text accurately. Besides, some inexpensive printers can not print in text mode at all (the so-called win-printers or GDI-devices).

DOSPRN allows you to use a good old DOS program with new printers irrespective of their types (Yes, USB and network printers, print-servers, and PDF-printers too!)

Also DOSPRN supports Epson and HP PCL Esc-sequences emulation, multiple international codepages, landscape/portrait printing, text color manipulation, absolute positioning and many other features.</description>

The program wroks perfectly in dos mode using gwbasic but in qpro, it defaults constatntly to a spooling utility and will not divert the lpt1 print instruction. If there is a solution, please let me know.

It seems you did not read our manual and FAQ section at http://www.dosprn.com/faq.htm or ignored them. By the way if you had any problems you should contact support service first.

Since your DOS application prints graphics image we recommend to select any Epson compatible printer (EPSON FX/LX etc) in your DOS program's settings and switch DOSPRN into 'Epson matrix' emulation mode.

DOSPRN emulates EPSON ESC/P specifucation properly, including bitmap graphics commands.

I am excited about the possibilty this program will be a lot of help to us.

I do have a few problems\questions.

First of all the program did not print the 4 left most characters requested.

Secondly, the double strike pica print did not stay centered as programmed.

Thirdly, can you tell me about time necessary to print repetitive print-outs? We run many monthly invoices in a row and would like to know if this process would require as much time as going directly to a dot-matrix printer or more.

Fourthly, can you tell me how to print a graph from print screen?

We are running very memory and speed efficient GW Basic programs writtin using MS-DOS and need different fonts for most convenient and attractive printouts(especially condensed portrait printing.)

Thank you for your help.

Print is fine except for it not reading landscape, you have to tell it to print landscape and the print time after you hit the button leves a lot to be desired, very slow in total time.
I had to disable 2 firewall/virus or it would work only once and then the program I was using would not work until I removed the Dosprn and the program I was using and then reloaded my program and then Dosprn. I have not yet had the courage to enable my firewalls/virus. I will let you know what happens when I do.

                Hi,

Great little program. We are just evaluating its use for a longer term project and will be pleased to support you if we proceed.
